270 days of my life wednesday / 19 september 07
Last year I spent 270 days in Finland. Now I'm already more than three month back in Austria, time enough to think about my experiences during Erasmus. So I decided to write one of my last entries in my Finland blog: The conclusion about this amazing period of my life.

Hello Everybody! I arrived back in Austria from my great, amazing, unique and interesting Europe Trip (report will follow soon, by the way) now already since a couple of days. A lot happened since this time.

You Belong in Paris tuesday / 18 september 07
When I read some of the blogs of my friends today I discovered a new entry in Rita's Blog. She attended a test that tells you which Europe City you belong in. In her case it is Milan.
Of course I had to attend this test too and what a surprise: It's Paris!

Holidays With Friends - The German Invasion sunday / 12 august 07
Since more than 60 years Germany tries to occupy Austria again. In the last couple of years their tactics have changed radically: Nowadays our neighbor country wouldn't send tanks or soldiers to achieve their aim - it's even worth!
Every year Germany sends thousands of tourists equipped with cameras, the Bild Zeitung, baseball caps provided with a tiny ventilator, finger-thick golden chains around their necks and a huge beer belly, to our country.
Sometimes I have the feeling that there are more German tourists in Austria than Austrians, specially in the region I call home.

This year Andi, Stephan and Frank (all from differrent parts of Germany), my former flatmates and friends during my Erasmus Term in Finland came to visit Austria. Fortunately also my desperately-handsome "half-brother" David traveled also to Villach to help me handle our German friends.

Woodstockenboi 2007 friday / 10 august 07
Three weeks ago my friend Claudia invited me to visit the woodstockenboi music-festival. At this I haven't even known what the woodstockenboi is and I guess so have most of you - so here are some facts Claudia gave me:

The woodstockenboi is an electronic, reggae, lounge, etc music-festival which takes place every year in a small village near the Weissensee in one of the most beautiful regions of Carinthia. The village is called Stockenboi and because the festival takes place in the woods, surrounding this village, it was named woodstockenboi -it's that easy! The festival is organized already since a couple of years by a handful of students and not very well known, more like an insider tip - compared to the big festivals (with around 150.000 people) I used to visit over the last years, it is pretty small with its only 700 visitors. So, for me, this was very welcome after the huge rock-festival Novarock in June this year.

Tour De Europe wednesday / 08 august 07
I'm already more than two month back in Austria and life became the same as before. I don't know if I should be happy about this or not..

Since I'm back I started more and more longing for the faraway. I don't like it anymore to stay at the same place for a long time. Since Erasmus, traveling became a kind of drug for me and I know that many people who spent a year abroad feel the same way. I'm also missing all my friends, who I got to know during my Erasmus term in Finland. Conversations through skype, msn or email can't really replace what we had together.
Because of these reasons I decided some time ago to travel for a whole month through Europe to get to know new countries, new cultures and of course to see my friends.

Hot Town - Summer In The city friday / 20 july 07
Everybody of you who watched the thermometer on my blog during this week saw that in Austria there were incredible high temperatures - even for summer time.
Good for tourism and people who can go to the lakes to cool down (although I wouldn't call it cooling down to take a bath in a 27°C hot lake), bad for employees and even worse for me: the student who spends his summer holidays in a not air-conditioned, 33°C hot office in front of a computer to earn some money.
